Privacy Policy

How we handle the information you give us when you call, chat or book a tow — and the rights you have over it as a California resident.

In short: we collect what we need to send a truck and complete the job, we do not sell your information, and this website has no contact forms. The detail is below.

Who we are

AT Towing LLC (“AT Towing LLC,” doing business as “AT Towing,” and referred to here as “we,” “us” or “our”) is a family-owned towing, vehicle recovery and roadside assistance company based at 51 Oak Rd, Benicia, California 94510. This privacy policy explains what information we collect through our website at https://www.at-towing.com, through the chat feature on that website, and when you contact us for service.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to information we collect through this website and in the course of providing towing and roadside services. It does not apply to the practices of companies we do not own or control, including the third-party services described below, or to any other website you reach by following a link from ours.

By using this website or requesting service from us, you agree to the handling of information described here.

Information we collect

Information you give us directly

This website does not contain any contact forms. The two ways you give us information directly are:

  • Calling us. When you call our dispatch line we collect what you tell us in order to send a truck: your name, the phone number you are calling from, your location, a description of your vehicle and the problem, and where the vehicle needs to go. We may also take payment information to complete a job.
  • The chat widget. The chat feature in the corner of this site is operated for us by a third-party provider. If you start a conversation, it collects whatever you enter — typically your name, phone number, email address and your message.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, and the date and time. We use this to keep the site running and secure.

Information we do not collect

We do not ask for or knowingly collect Social Security numbers, driver's licence numbers, precise device geolocation, biometric data, or any of the categories of sensitive personal information defined under California law, except where a driver's licence or registration is shown to us on scene to verify that you are entitled to take possession of a vehicle. We record only that verification occurred, not a copy of the document, unless a specific job or law requires it.

Third-party services on this site

Several parts of this site are provided by other companies, and those companies receive information directly from your browser when the page loads. Each has its own privacy policy, which governs what it does with that information:

LeadConnector / HighLevel (chat widget)
Powers the chat bubble. Receives anything you type into the chat, along with technical information about your browser, and may set cookies or similar storage on your device.
Google Maps
Provides the embedded map on our contact page. Google receives your IP address and may set cookies when the map loads.
Google Fonts
Serves the typefaces used on this site. Google receives your IP address when the font files are requested.
Content delivery network
Our photographs are served from a third-party image host, which receives your IP address when an image loads.

We do not control these services and we do not receive the information they collect on their own behalf.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • dispatch a truck to you and complete the job you requested;
  • contact you about a job in progress, including arrival updates;
  • take payment and issue receipts and invoices;
  • keep records of jobs, including photographs of vehicle condition at pickup and delivery;
  • respond to questions sent through the chat widget;
  • handle insurance claims, disputes and requests from law enforcement;
  • maintain and secure this website; and
  • comply with our legal obligations, including record-keeping required of towing operators.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

Phone calls and text messages

Calls to and from our dispatch line may be recorded or monitored for quality, training and accuracy of job records. If we record a call, we will tell you at the start of it.

If you give us your mobile number — by calling, or by entering it into the chat widget — we may contact you by text message about the specific job you asked us about, for example to confirm an arrival time or a drop-off location. These are service messages relating to your request, not marketing.

We will not send you marketing or promotional text messages unless you have separately agreed to receive them. If you ever do agree and later change your mind, reply STOP to any message to opt out, or call us. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Opting out of marketing messages does not stop service messages about an active job.

When we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We share information only in these situations:

  • Service providers. Companies that operate tools on our behalf — our chat provider, payment processor, phone system and hosting provider — receive only what they need to perform that function.
  • At your direction. If you ask us to deliver a vehicle to a repair shop, dealership or storage facility, we share the details needed to complete that delivery.
  • Insurers and motor clubs. When a job is billed to an insurer, motor club or fleet account, we provide the job details that party requires.
  • Law enforcement and legal process. When required by law, subpoena or court order, or when a vehicle is towed at the direction of a public agency or property owner.
  • Business transfers. If the business is sold or reorganised, records may transfer as part of that transaction.

Cookies and tracking

The pages we wrote do not set advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not run any advertising network on this site. Your browser may store small amounts of data on behalf of the third-party services listed above, most notably the chat widget, which uses storage to remember a conversation between page loads.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may stop the chat widget or the embedded map from working correctly; the rest of the site will function normally.

Because we do not track visitors across other websites, we do not respond differently to browser “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals on our own pages. Third-party services handle those signals according to their own policies.

How long we keep information

We keep job records — including invoices, vehicle condition photographs, and the details of who authorised a tow — for as long as needed to run the business and to meet our legal, insurance, accounting and record-keeping obligations. Records connected to a storage lien, an insurance claim or a legal dispute are kept until that matter is fully resolved.

Chat transcripts are retained by our chat provider under its own retention schedule.

How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold, and we limit access to staff who need it to do their jobs. This website is served over an encrypted connection.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send payment card numbers or other sensitive details through the chat widget — call us instead.

Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you specific rights over your personal information.

Categories we collect

In the past twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as your name, phone number, email address and IP address); customer records (such as billing information and vehicle details); commercial information (the services you requested and paid for); internet activity (pages requested on this site); and geolocation information limited to the pickup and drop-off locations you give us for a job. We collect these from you directly and from your use of this website.

Your rights

  • Know and access. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we shared it with.
  • Delete. Request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions — we cannot delete records we must keep for legal, tax, insurance or lien purposes.
  • Correct. Ask us to fix inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
  • Limit use of sensitive information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that trigger this right.
  • Non-discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge a different price or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.

How to make a request

Call us at 925-395-6178 or write to us at the address below. We will need enough information to verify that you are the person whose records you are asking about — typically the phone number used to book the job and the date and location of the tow. An authorised agent may make a request on your behalf with written permission that we can verify.

We will confirm receipt within ten business days and respond within forty-five days, or tell you if we need the additional forty-five days the law allows.

Children's privacy

This website is intended for adults arranging vehicle services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will be reflected at the top of the page. Continuing to use the site or request service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
